The PEAK Center

Based in Lansdale, Montgomery County, PA, The Peak Center has an opening for an Assistant Director as well as a Case Manager. The Peak Center is a community center for adults 50+ in the greater North Penn area of Montgomery County.  The mission of the center is to support wellness & quality of life for adults, primarily those age 50+ and promote their participation in all aspects of community life

Assistant Director-full time

The Assistant Director will have responsibility for the management of the programs and general operation of The PEAK Center including the management of program & operations staff.

Job responsibilities include:

  • Initiating, planning, implementing, coordinating, evaluating and scheduling of broad array of enrichment programs, health promotion programs, other educational activities in arts & humanities, and socialization activities for adults 50 years of age and above.
  • Supervising meal program for Center members.
  • Supervising building and facility maintenance matters and safety in current building.  
  • Directly supervising one full time staff person and several part-time staff and contractors who are direct reports (organization chart available).
  • Producing articles & other material for Center’s newsletter about programs under his/her management as well as program related publicity.
  • Producing reports on program activity for management and funders.

Educational Requirements:

Minimum: Bachelors Degree, Masters Degree preferred.    Preferred coursework in planning, health promotion, hospitality, business and marketing, adult education, gerontology or public relations.

Position is full-time, salaried.  Salary range in the low to mid 40’s.

 

Case Manager-part-time

This position will be responsible for providing information & referral and outreach and basic case work services for older adults and their families.  It also includes developing educational programs related to benefits, services, legal issues, caregiver issues, etc. and obtaining community experts on consumer topics that will benefit older adults & their families.

 

Requirements:

  • Minimum Education: Bachelors Degree in Social Work. Other Bachelors degrees in related fields of sociology, psychology, human services may be accepted.
  • Proficient in MS Word, MS Outlook, and Internet.
  • Previous experience in a case management, social work or benefits counseling role.
  • Previous experience working with older adults a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to perform under deadlines.
  • Good writing and speaking skills.
  • Excellent people skills.

This position is part time- 18 hours per week (primarily morning hours) with varied schedule during tax season. No paid benefits.

Director of Development

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Bucks County (BBBSBC) is seeking an experienced, high-energy professional to lead our development efforts and to promote the agency throughout Bucks County. The Director of Development will work with the CEO and the Senior Management Team to implement and execute fundraising strategies that will meet and exceed Agency goals.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Identify individuals with the resources to become high end donors. Creates cultivation and stewardship strategies designed to maximize giving.  Ensure information is updated in Kintera database.
  • Work with CEO to implement a comprehensive annual giving campaign that will include direct mail and online solicitation efforts.
  • Maintain complete and accurate records of contact and on-going communications with current and potential donors.
  • Reviews and remains current on issues affecting mentoring and youth development, philanthropy and the local community.
  • Other projects as assigned by CEO.
  • Development budget of $350K annually.

Job Qualifications:

Academic: Bachelor’s Degree

Professional: 5+ years experience and demonstrated success in a fund development or sales/marketing role. Knowledge of Bucks County corporate / philanthropic community a plus.

Personal Attributes: Must be enthusiastic and able to work independently without close management. Must possess superior customer skills, be highly organized, able to adapt to changing priorities.  Must be proficient in Microsoft Office software package, have experience with fund development databases and be able to travel throughout Bucks County.

Board of Director Positions:

Child, Home & Community ("CHC") is currently looking for new board members.  They are a United Way agency serving Bucks and Montgomery Counties.  CHC's goal is to ensure healthy births, enhance family stability and promote self-sufficiency.  The core values of the agency are:

  • All children have a right to a health start in life;
  • Every expectant teen parent is entitled to quality healthcare and education;
  • Young parents need support in order to develop healthy children; and
  • All families are valued.

The Board is required to understand and support the agency, as well as be committed to the mission of the agency.  Board responsibilities include the following:  (i) regular attendance at 6 of 12 regularly scheduled board and committee meetings annually; (ii) represent the agency in a professional manner to family, groups and associations; (iii) make a personal financial commitment to the agency of a minimum of $100 for the Annual Appeal and take a significant role in a fundraising activity that brings an additional $150 to the organization per year; (iv) serve on at least one committee; (v) attend one session of Focus on Motherhood, Building the Family, or any other agency sponsored program each year; and (vi) assume the legal obligation for the function, operation and organization of the agency.
